Vibrant Women Wellness is all about mind, body and spirit. Reading books in each area is essential in educating ourselves on what it means to be well in all three aspects as women. Mental wellness goes hand in hand with physical and spiritual wellness. As women, our minds and brains are often influenced by our genes, hormones, life experiences, society, culture, thoughts, and feelings. Dr. Sarah Mckay’s The Women’s Brain Book: The Neuroscience of Health Hormones and Happiness uses findings from research labs, case studies, and interviews from neuroscientists to explore how our minds and brains are sculpted. Dr. Mckay explores the female lifespan from a chronological perspective. We will be learning about what happens in the womb, infancy and girlhood, puberty and the menstrual cycle, the teenage years, mental health, romance, pregnancy and motherhood, menopause, and finally, longevity and old age. These are aspects of life that are specific to women and impact our physical and mental wellbeing. Our Vibrant Women Book Club is a space to read in community with other women and participate in guided chapter discussions.
