Teena Walker is a Marriage and Family Therapy Therapist. She is a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy program at NYACK Alliance Graduate School of Counseling.
For many years she has been mentoring and counseling individuals, couples, and families within her community. In her community, she was known as the therapist that created a safe, nonjudgmental, trusting environment.
Being a therapist was not a part of her plan; however, she later discovered that it is her calling and purpose in life. Ms. Walker has a passion for helping others and being a part of something greater than herself. She looks forward to working with individuals, couples, families, and groups from all ethnic diverse cultures and world religions. She believes in meeting people where they are and walking with them on their journey to explore and unpack their life experiences.
Life is full of unexpected and undesirable events. These events can leave you with overwhelming feelings of despair. Ms. Walker plans to help you reduce anxious feelings, diminish self-doubt, build self-esteem, decrease depressing or frustrated feelings, strengthen couples and family relationships, pre-marital counseling, create and maintain healthy relationships, and confront past traumatic experiences. Her techniques of interest include CBT, Narrative therapy, Solution-focused, Object relations, Bowenian family therapy, mindfulness, and spiritual integration.
Ms. Walker welcomes the opportunity to form an alliance with you and to help you connect with your inner strengths and abilities. Her motto is to empower, encourage, facilitate growth, instill hope, and help you build a life of wholeness and resilience.
